Khaled was one of 700 Palestinians allowed to leave Palestine on Monday 3 December.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Palestinian-born Khaled has been reading Business and Management at Bradford since 2001. He returned to Gaza this summer, after six years in England, to see his family. He planned to return to Bradford at the end of the summer to continue his studies, however, Israel closed the Rafah border and Khaled was refused permission to leave the country.

While he is now free, Khaled has sadly missed his first set of exams at Bradford, the National Union of Students has said. The university will allow him to take these exams at the end of next year - giving him time to settle back in and revise. He will then be able to start his final year next September as normal.
