Lecturer suspended from James Cook University in Singapore

John Tan, a lecturer in social psychology at Australia’s James Cook University in Singapore, was suspended from his university position on 21st October 2008 due to a pending court case. He was charged for contempt of court for his actions during the defamation trial of Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) members. Mr Tan is also the assistant secretary general of the party.
