South Korean Court Jails German Scholar for Pyongyang Links

A South Korean court sentenced Song Doo-Yul, a sociology professor at Münster University, to seven years in prison for maintaining unauthorized links with North Korea's leadership. Song Doo-yul, a South Korea-born dissident, returned home last year after 36 years of exile in Germany. He was immediately arrested and indicted on charges of violating South Korea's anti-communist National Security Law.
Students charged for circulating satirical images on net

Reporters Without Borders (Reporters sans frontières -RSF), has voiced shock over the 23 March 2004 arrest and subsequent charging of two students for circulating images on the Internet that poke fun at opposition politicians. One of the students, who uses the pseudonym Kwon, was accused of posting more than 70 pictures on 15 websites during the current pre-election period.
